UChicago Department of Professional Education

A wide range of professionals can pursue academic and professional certificate programs through the Department of Professional Education at the University of Chicago. Founder and Chief Brand Strategist, Lindrea Reynolds, was tapped by the University to teach Inclusive Brand Marketing, a recently re-branded course offered to marketing and creative professionals.

The problem:

As a result of the global pandemic, the world has been rapidly changing. From the way we approach the workplace to the way we market and promote our products and services. UChicago’s Inclusive Brand Marketing certificate curriculum was deficient in many areas. Since the times were changing and a new approach to marketing was immensely needed, professional students no longer found value in the education provided by the course.

The Solution

LR Brand Consulting updated the curriculum to make it current and relevant to today’s marketing industry. The class covered market research, brand development, brand archetypes, employer branding, brand touchpoints, and storytelling pitching. Additionally, the new format introduced LRBC’s imagination labs for students to brainstorm new project ideas and receive coaching on how to move forward.

Outcomes:

The students very well received the new curriculum. It was reported that 100% of those who attended strongly recommended the course and would refer it to a colleague or friend. Students  shared that they found the curriculum to be challenging, but rewarding.
